Volunteer opportunities
The Durango 4-C Council welcomes volunteers, primarily in classroom and clerical positions. However, volunteer opportunities can be developed to meet the interests of the volunteers if they match the purposes of the agency.
Some classroom activities could include:
Reading to children
Playing with children as they explore the classroom
Helping with art projects, science experiments, walking excursions
Assisting with dental hygiene or meal service
Assisting the classroom teacher
Preparing materials for lessons
Volunteers are expected to complete an application and participate in training prior to being placed in a volunteer position. Regular classroom and child care volunteers must also pass background screening and may need to submit proof of TB screening and clearance.
